ZHAN Zhuchang, the alumnus of our school,is currently a PHD candidate in Planetary Sciences of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is the member of Research on Exoplanet and Life Characteristics Team of MIT as well as the Mars Biosphere Research, and a researcher of The TESS Mission Center (another major exoplanet probe after Kepler).

He has won the gold medal in the National Astronomy Olympiad and the silver medal in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition. In recent days, Researchers of Cardiff University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have published an article in the "Nature", which suggests that tiny traces of phosphine could be proved in Venus's atmosphere through telescopic observations or there exists the life in Venus. This new excited the whole field of astronomy. What excites more in our school is that ZHAN Zhuchang is the only Chinese who participates in this research project.
